E-E-A-T

E-E-A-T stands for Experience, Expertise, Authoritativeness and Trustworthiness — Google's framework for assessing content quality.

E-E-A-T is an acronym from Google's Search Quality Rater Guidelines used by human quality raters (and algorithms informed by their assessments) to evaluate content value. The added second "E" for Experience in 2022 reflects the growing need to distinguish human-written, experience-based content from AI-generated text without genuine expertise.

E-E-A-T is not a ranking factor in itself, but indirectly influences nearly every ranking signal. For "Your Money or Your Life" topics (health, finance, legal) high E-E-A-T is required — without it, ranking high is nearly impossible. For other niches it provides a strong advantage.

An article "Best mortgage for first-time buyers 2026" written by a certified mortgage advisor with LinkedIn link, citing FCA sources and verified customer reviews scores high on E-E-A-T. The same article without author or sources scores low.
